Fighting Chance support

One email, one human, honest expectations.

During early access, support for Fighting Chance itself — product questions, account issues, bug reports — is handled by email. No bots, no ticket numbers. Emails reach the founder directly.

Email us

support@fightingchance.co.za

Include: what stage you are on, what you tried, what happened, and whether your matter has time pressure.

Realistic expectations during early access

  • Response time: usually within one business day, sometimes longer on weekends.
  • Fix time: bug fixes typically deploy within a week. Complex fixes can take longer.
  • What we cannot do: give legal advice, speak to your spouse or their attorney, negotiate on your behalf. For those things, you need an attorney.
  • When the right answer is “go elsewhere”: if we cannot help you, we will say so clearly and point you where to go.

Common questions

Things people ask before emailing.

How do I delete my account?

From the dashboard, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Your data enters a 30-day recovery window, then is irrevocably deleted. Email support to skip the recovery window.

How do I export what I have entered?

Settings → Data → Export. You get a zip file with your stage content as markdown, uploaded documents as PDFs, and structured JSON data. You can take this to any attorney.

Something looks wrong in the AI output. Is that a bug?

Maybe, but probably not a bug in the engineering sense. The AI does its best with what you give it. If you disagree with an output, edit it directly — nothing is locked until you submit. If you think the AI got something materially wrong about SA law, email support with the stage, text, and what you think is wrong.

I am worried I have entered something sensitive. Can I remove it?

Yes. Open the stage, edit or delete the content, and save. If you have submitted and want to go back, email support and we will unlock it. For purging from backups, email support — takes a few days.

Can I use Fighting Chance for a matter that is not in South Africa?

No. Fighting Chance is built against South African family law and court procedure. If your matter is in another jurisdiction, the product will mislead you.

My attorney wants to see what I have been working on.

Export your matter package (Settings → Data → Export) and send it to them as a file. A direct “share with attorney” feature is coming in a later release.

Is there a phone number?

Not during early access. One person cannot handle both building the product and answering a phone. Email is the fastest way to reach us.

If you need more than we can give

Where to go next.

Some situations need a full-service attorney from the start. If Fighting Chance is not the right fit, these are the paths we suggest:

  • Legal Aid South Africa — free legal assistance if you qualify on income grounds. 0800 110 110.
  • Law Society of South Africa — a directory of admitted attorneys by city and specialisation. lssa.org.za.
  • Pro bono clinics at UCT, Wits, Stellenbosch, and UKZN law faculties — help in specific types of matter, income-qualified.
  • ProBono.Org — coordinates pro bono family law assistance across South Africa. probono.org.za.
